Who Is Responsible for Your Data

HGV Accountants operates this website. Accountancy work arising from an enquiry is delivered by Tidy Money Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 06509733, registered office Devonshire House, 582 Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex, HA7 1JS.

If you become a client, that practice becomes responsible for the personal data it holds about you in the course of the engagement, and it will tell you how it handles it at that point.

What We Collect

Only two things.

  • What you type into the enquiry form: your name, email address, telephone number, and anything you write in the message box.
  • First-touch attribution for the visit: the page you landed on, any campaign parameters in the link you arrived through, and the site that referred you, if any. This is stored in your browser for the length of the visit and sent alongside your enquiry so we know which page prompted it.

We do not ask for and do not want your Unique Taxpayer Reference, National Insurance number, bank details or any HMRC login. Do not put them in the message box. If we need them for work you have engaged us to do, we will ask for them through a secure route.

Analytics and Cookies

No analytics run on this site unless you have accepted them. Where analytics are enabled, a banner asks first and nothing loads until you choose. If you decline, nothing is set beyond a single item in your browser's local storage recording the choice, so you are not asked again.

There is no advertising tracking on this site, no cross-site tracking and no data broker involvement.

Why We Are Allowed to Hold It

Your enquiry is processed on the basis of legitimate interests: you asked us a commercial question and we need your details to answer it. Where analytics are used, they run on your consent, which you give through the banner and can withdraw by clearing your browser storage.

Who It Is Shared With

Your enquiry reaches us through a Google Apps Script endpoint and is stored in a Google Sheet, so Google acts as a processor for that data. It is shared with the accountancy practice named above where that is necessary to answer you.

It is not sold, not passed to any third party for marketing, and not shared with any lead broker or introducer network.

How Long It Is Kept

Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick up a conversation that resumes and so we can tell whether a marketing channel actually works, then deleted.

Where an enquiry becomes an engagement, the records are kept for the periods required by tax and company law, which are longer, and the practice will set that out in its own engagement terms.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, object to it being processed, or ask for it to be restricted. Ask through the enquiry form and we will action it.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, sets a strict transport security policy, and sends no personal data in a URL. Enquiries are transmitted directly from your browser to the endpoint that receives them.
